Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

2013 Holiday DUI Campaign

December 13th thru January 1st 2014

With the Holiday season upon us, Addison County Sheriff's Deputies, and all our State and local police agencies will be out on Addison County highways in a combined effort in keeping our highways safe for your holiday travels.

Drive Sober and please take the extra time to get to your destinations. We will be conducting DUI Check Points in Addison County so don't chance it...Have a sober driver and plan ahead.

YOUR SAFE HOLIDAY TRAVELS IS OUR GOAL. So, while you are traveling to and from your holiday destinations...PLEASE BE SAFE, TAKE YOUR TIME, AND HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY!

The strategy behind this enhanced enforcement is to remain highly visible to the motoring public reminding them of the importance of following the laws to ensure their motoring safety. The reduction of vehicle crashes is one of the primary goals.

The concentrated enforcement will cover:
  • Speed and Equipment Violations
  • Impaired/Intoxicated Driving
  • Driver/Occupant Seat belt Laws

With the Thanksgiving Holiday approaching. Addison County Sheriff's Deputies, and all our state and local police agencies will be out on Addison County highways in a combined effort, looking for those who do not use their seat belts.

Law Enforcement teams are participated in a Border-To-Border Campaign - On Monday May 20th 2013

This was the Crown Point - Champlain Bridge Vermont and New York Teams. - Great Job!

June 7th 2013 Addison County LETR Team Agencies

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is a campaign Law Enforcement Agencies participate to raise funds and awareness for the Special Olympics athletes.

2013 LETR Team – Vermont State Police (New Haven Barracks), Addison County Sheriff's Department, Middlebury Police Department, Bristol Police Department, and the Vergennes Police Department.

This year's torch “Flame of Hope” will start its north bound journey thru Addison County with the torch being handed over to Vermont State Police (New Haven) Troopers and relayed to the Middlebury Police Department to be ran thru the Town of Middlebury. - Check back for times and route the “Flame of Hope” will take thru Middlebury.

Once thru Town of Middlebury the “Flame of Hope” will be passed along to the Bristol Police Department to continue the journey north thru the Town of Bristol. - Check back for times and route the “Flame of Hope” will take thru Bristol.

Upon the completion of the “Flame of Hope's” journey thru Bristol, it will then be relayed to the Vergennes Police Department and ran thru the City of Vergennes. – Check back for times and route the “Flame of Hope” will take thru Vergennes.

The “Flame of Hope” is continuously escorted by the Addison County Law Enforcement agencies team and athletes (Guardians of the Flame) thru out Addison County.

The “Flame of Hope” will exit Addison County being handed off to Chittenden County's Law Enforcement agencies team in front of The Teddy Bear Factory in the Town of Shelburne. – Check back for the time of the hand off.

Monday May 2013 RT22A to RT7 Corridor Patrol

May 10th 2013 Vermont State Police and Addison County Sheriffs Department were out along the RT22A to RT7 corridor in a diligent effort to keep Addison County highways free from Drunk Drivers.

Many traffic stops were conducted from Orwell to Ferrisbugh.

Addison County Law Enforcement Agencies team up in a collaborated effort patrolling Addison County's highways looking to see if you have "Clicked It". If you haven't your going to get a Ticket!.

This years campaign is and always has been about saving lives. 2012 had 77 Fatalities, with over 33% unbelted! We need your help to get this to 0%;

So remember "Click It or Ticket!"

Addison County Unit for Special Investigations (ACUSI)

The Addison County Sheriff's Department is proud to announce that the Addison County Unit for Special Investigations (ACUSI) is located here with us. ACUSI is a professional collaboration of multiple agencies from Addison County that combines years of experience to protect and support all children, families and adults.

Through investigation, prosecution and intervention of alleged abuse. ACUSI fosters this professional collaboration to promote education and advocacy regarding the prevention of abuse.
